Festival of Anime
The Metreon Festival of Anime was October 27-28, 2001 at Sony's entertainment complex in Yuerba Buena Gardens in San Francisco. This was Sony's first try at a full weekend anime event at Metreon. Attendees numbered in the hundreds, giving the event an intimate feel. Dozens came in costume. No-Name anime hosted a panel on fan clubs and we had a good dialog with people running or trying to start clubs in some of the local schools. Viz hosted a party on Saturday night, featuring anime music remixed into dance music. In addition to the festival area, the Airtight Garage featured video games including DDR and Metreon stores had plenty of cool audio, video and computer gear to lust after. And don't forget part 1.
