Event: Halko Momoi visits America 2013

Halko Momoi (桃井はるこ, momo-i) spent some time in America with fans from around the US and Japan. Some lucky (?) fans dangled with her off the edge of the Stratosphere tower, 866 feet above the ground, on the X-Scream roller coaster. Our pictures from this trip are below.

Halko Momoi is the voice of anime characters including Faris Nyannyan from Steins;Gate (English), Tama-chan from Bottle Fairy, Keiko Komatsuna from CODE-E, Anise Tatlin from Tales of the Abyss and Sun Seto from My Bride is a Mermaid. In the past, she has cosplayed both Faris and Anise at San Jose's FanimeCon. Before she was involved full time in the entertainment industry, she traveled to the US as a tech journalist. As a musician, Halko Momoi is probably best known to anime fans for singing themes to anime shows like "Romantic Summer" from My Bride is a Mermaid which she wrote for herself and Nogawa Sakura. In addition to writing many of her own songs, she writes songs for others including songs from the anime RO-KYU-BU! and Uesaka Sumire's song "Genshi, Jyoshi wa, Taiyo datta" from Genshiken Second Season. She wrote and is one of the singers for the opening songs for season one and season two of the live action TV show Unofficial Sentai Akibaranger. She is the producer of record label AKIHABA LOVE RECORDS and co-produces the idol group Afila Saga. A typical Halko Momoi live is a mix of songs she wrote and sang for an anime or game, songs she wrote for herself and covers of popular anime songs.
