November 10th Meeting

Move over Traditional November because today we celebrate anime. We bid farewell to the eloping couple in Toradara. We'll cry for Sayaka in Madoka Magica and laugh at humans and squid alike in Squid Girl.

Showings are presented in Japanese language audio with English subtitles and are suggested for ages 13 and over unless otherwise specified. Starting times are approximate: Come early! No-Name Anime meetings are presented in and co-sponsored by the Santa Clara City Central Park Library. Many thanks to the library for hosting our meetings! This month, we're in the Cedar Room. Just follow the signs!

12:30 Kino's Journey #3
(Subtitled, Slice-of-Life Adventures)

12:55 Puella Magi Madoka Magica #8
(Subtitled, Cute Magical Girls Dark Fantasy)
"I was stupid So stupid" - We already know full well that the characters of this series are anything but traditional anime "magical girls", and this month as Sayaka's tragic decline continues, we will start to gain a glimpse into the truth behind Homura, Kyubey, and the origin of the witches.

13:25 Sound of the Sky #7.5
(Subtitled, Fantasy Slice-of-Life Drama)
"Drinking Party" and "Fortress Battle" - The platoon has been continuing a tradition of on-site winemaking to help finance their operations, but this fact has been kept secret from Kanata as well as the church. When the suspicion grows, Felicia comes up with a plan to address the situation -- but first, everyone should try her special blend of tea.
— Subtitled by Nozomi Entertainment

13:50 Abunai! Break time!

14:40 Bamboo Blade #24
(Subtitled, Kendo Comedy)
"The Sword and the Way" - Traditionally, when it comes to sports teams, it's the captain who gives out the pep talks. But with the Muroe High Kendo Team on the verge of imploding, Kirino -- as well as Tama-chan and Miya-Miya -- will all be receiving pep talks from the members struggling to hold the team together.
— Subtitled by FUNimation Entertainment

15:05 Spice and Wolf #4-5 (TV-14)
(Subtitled, Feudal Finance Fantasy)
"Wolf and Her Helpless Partner" and "Wolf and Lover's Quarrel" - The non-traditional partnership between wolf and human grows stronger as Holo and Craft take their information about the silver coins to the Milone trading company. Although they stand to gain a portion of the rewards, the risks have also increased as rival company Medio seems to know something of their own -- regarding Holo.
— Subtitled by A.D.Vision

16:00 Squid Girl #3
(Subtitled, Sea of Sci-Fi Silliness)
When Ika Musume says humans are silly for being afraid of ghosts, Eiko takes everyone on a traditional Japanese test of courage in the cemetery -- but maybe inflatable orcas would have been scarier? Local surfer Nagisa also has her own fears regarding Squid Girl.
