No-Name's Annual San Diego Comic Con Trip
Saturday night is always Masquerade time, and this year, the host was Robert Trebor (who played Selmonius in Xena and Hercules, as well as many other characters in shows like Young Indiana Jones). Trebor is always extremely funny, and he started this year's show with the message that the masquerade would be about innocence, family values, morality, and uplift. The first 3 pretty much went out the door when the judges were introduced, since Virginia Hey (Farscape) and Chase Mastersen (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine) proceeded to demonstrate the "uplift" part by pushing up their anatomy at the camera. As usual, the masquerade audience was quick to find things to shout. Instead of "Rock!" this year, it was yelling the contestant number back at Trebor. Also as usual, all the entries were great, even though there were many other costumers running around the show who were not in the masquerade.

It never fails! There's always a giant robot costume of some kind each year.

The Hidden Talents sketch was okay, until...

...this popped out, singing Elvis songs!

Lulu, from Final Fantasy X

Doctor Lao's Snowman sketch.

The very complex Sailor Moon sketch with each character dancing to different music.

A really great Ming the Merciless and Aura sketch (won several awards, too)

This year SDCC had subtitles for the masquerade, which helped.

The Trigun "who's the real Vash" skit.

The "When Worlds Collide" skit, with Gandalf Kenobi and Frodo Skywalker.

Adding to the hilarity is Strider Solo.

Then there's Le-arwen.

And Yodaladriel.

Another Lord of the Rings-related skit.

Daredevil and Elektra skit (already using the movie costumes).

Another Final Fantasy X sketch, with Yojimbo and Yuuna.

This was a bizarre act with belly dancing.

Very complex costume for "Vampire Demon King"

You have to have a Jango Fett costume, of course.

"I'm Just A Bill" for those of us who remember the old educational short.

Just what the subtitle says.

"The Captor and His Mate" had pretty good costuming (or lack of, in the woman's case)

The neat-o glowing stairs outside the convention center.
